“Calls to Action” under the Truth and Reconciliation Commission TRC and the legacy of residential schools to the advance process of Canadian reconciliation, our goal is to look at the Legacy, and implement the TRC Child Welfare recommendations.
ICSM focuses on strength based approaches across South Western Ontario and surrounding area advocating with children and youth “in care”, speaking publicly, providing presentations and consulting services on behalf of the Urban Native children and youth who are involved with child welfare.

We are committed to provide advocacy, and culturally congruent services that place children and youth’s rights, responsibilities and voice first. Our approach is to encourage children, youth and their families to become effective self-advocates.
Objectives / Outcomes
- Advocate with children, and youth at risk, in-care, and or receiving kinship care services. The primary focus is support, assist, inform and ensure that children and youth’s continuum of care is meeting professional standards with designated services.
- Advocate and promote a child centered philosophy (world view) to children, youth and their families.
- Provide a cultural {will} focused on strength and support to increase collaboration between families, service providers, partnerships, associations and build relationships with Aboriginal communities and mainstream sectors.
